This weekend me and Lotta spent hand dyeing floss. After colouring we wrapped them up in plastic. Then we had to wait for at least 24 hours.
What to do with all that time??? Well, we started thinking that hand dyed floss really deserved handmade bobbins. So out came the scrapbook papers...
Then we realized that all that prettiness needed a pretty box to be stored in so we went shopping...
Then came the rinsing...
It took it's own sweet time but finally we hung them all to dry :) And we waited...
So, we gave our chairs new jeans-covers. Something I've wanted to do for a long time and I LOVE the way they turned out.
And then, finally we got to put all those beautiful hand dyed floss in our pretty, pretty boxes.
Oh, and we couldn't leave the highchair. It looked awful with it's dark brown wood and yellow plastic seat from the 70's (you can see see the chair on this old picture of Nataniel, forgot to take a beforeshot).
So, I bought some white paint sew together some old jeans and now it looks like this:
I love it!!
After Lotta went home I couldn't help myself so now I'm sewing jeans together to cover the sofa in the kitchen to match all the other chairs ;)
Spent the weekend at a quiltgathering in Luleå at Quilterian. It was so nice to meet old friends and make new ones. Thank you all for a lovely weekend!! It's been an inspiring weekend and I can't wait to continue with my projects.
See how deeply concentrated they all are?? One might think there was no cheerful chatter but then one might think wrong ;)
My brother and daughter compeating at my father's 60th birthday! The competition was rigged so that he got a piece of cake that was twice as big as hers and she got a tablespoon and he had to use a teaspoon =D.
months travels fast and tomorrow it's time for me to go back to work and Janne
will become a "stay-at-home-dad" for the next six months.
It's with mixed feelings I'm going back to being a full-time
working mom and I'm already looking forward to my summer vacation :). I don't
have time to work! I have so many other things I wish to do right now. Well,
there's a time and a place for everything so I just have to be patient I
Ages ago I made the stitcheries for the market baguette bag by Cinderberry Stitches. Then I didn't feel like cuttig all the 1,5" strips for the bag and figured I would by a honeybun to solve that problem. Since there's no quiltshoppes where I live I started searching the internet but never seemed to find a honeybun I liked... But then suddenly a couple of weeks ago I knew what to do! Here's the result and I just LOVE my market baguette bag!
I like it so much I couldn't help myself so I also made a smaller bag using selvages.
Yet another saturday has been spent in the emergency room at the hospital. This time it was my turn with really bad stomach aches. Unfortunately they were unable to help me and I was sent home. Hope the medication helps!
Saturday morning we woke up to a cold house. Only 9°C indoors and -37°C outdoors! By the end of the day we had reached a temperature of 15°C indoors and we were all freezing. Neo had his own way of keeping warm:
Saturday night I spent in the emergency room with our daughter who had stomach pains :(
Sunday morning the water was frozen! My DH (God bless him) spent most of the day working on defrosting those waterlines and by evening we got the water back. So... thank God it's monday! Except I'm sick again...Coughing and feverish but I guess spending a weekend like a popsicle will do that to you.
I've been sewing again! Made a Quilt for baby Henny that saw the light of day december 28. She also got a toy and a wheat warmer. The wheat warmer is my own pattern and I'm not going to show it to you just yet ;)
Also I made this book cover. In this book I write down all the clever thing that comes out our boys' mouths =)
